Across India, a child is reported missing every seven minutes. Six children every hour report a sexual crime against them, and four of them are reporting a rape. The vast majority of these children are girls.
Despite India’s strong child protection laws, children who are victims of trafficking and abuse can wait decades for their cases to go to trial – if they have the support and courage to report them in the first place.
KSCF USA landmark Access to Justice program is breaking new ground for child protection across India by:
As well as ensuring justice delivery to children who have been trafficked for labor or sexual exploitation, and victims of child sexual abuse, the Access to Justice program is also supporting the Child Marriage Free India campaign. India is one of the few countries in the world which has an outright ban on child marriage, outlawing all marriages to girls, and making no exceptions. This means it is also a crime in India to have sexual intercourse with a child regardless of the guise of marriage, as the age of consent is 18, with an explicit court ruling stating that such relations are child rape. The Child Marriage Free India campaign aims to end child marriage across India for good.
Central and state governments have designed many schemes and programs for the development of rural India. Yet most of the benefits do not reach the intended beneficiaries. Reasons are many hence, there is a need to build awareness, provides timely information and building capacity through training about schemes, services and entitlements, assist citizens to access them, revive community monitoring structures and mobilize and organize people to ask for what are their rights.

As a direct response to the problem of Malnourishment highlighted in the published Lancet study highlighting the disparities between states, Jiv Daya Foundation has put together a framework for action in Village based intervention and programs. The framework focuses on the most effective option of preventing and correcting malnourishment in children by provision of Milk.
JDF aims to support villages not only to ensure that children receive adequate daily nourishment through milk, but also to engage in the learning activities to impact their overall health and wellbeing.
Through extensive research and trials, JDF has come to the conclusion that 150 ml of Milk prepared by Amul Spray powder (Amul) is highly effective in meeting Daily Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for the children under the age of 5 years. Amul Spray Powder formula not only addresses daily requirements for Protein, Carbohydrate and fat but also has added Micronutrients which are required to encourage steady growth in children.

Care, Support & Treatment (CST) is an integral component of the National AIDS Control Program. Under the National AIDS Control Program (NACP) Phase-II, 122 Community Care Centers (CCCs) were set up to provide treatment for minor opportunistic infections (OIs), side effects of anti-retroviral therapy (ART) and provide psychosocial support through sustained counseling. CCCs were intended to function as a bridge between hospital and home-based care. Hence, CCCs were envisaged as stand-alone short-stay homes for people living with HIV (PLHIV). These were not linked to other activities of the program.
The introduction of ART in 2004 brought about a change in the role to be played by the CCCs. The CCCs transformed from a stand-alone short-stay home to playing a critical role in enabling PLHIV to access ART as well as providing monitoring, follow-up, counseling support to those who are initiated on ART, positive prevention, drug adherence, nutrition counseling, etc
